Understanding the Freelook Period

Your protection and satisfaction are our top priorities. IRDAI provides a safety net for every policyholder known as the Freelook Period.

What is a Freelook Period?

The Freelook Period is a window of time (usually 15 to 30 days from the date you receive the physical or digital policy document) during which you can review the terms and conditions of your insurance policy.

Niteesh's Note: Think of this as a "test drive" for your insurance. If you find that the policy details don't match what was promised, you have the legal right to return it.

How does it work?

  • Review: Check all riders, exclusions, and premium terms.
  • Decide: If you are unhappy, you can submit a cancellation request to the insurer.
  • Refund: The insurer will refund your premium after deducting proportionate risk premium, medical exam costs, and stamp duty charges.

Our Commitment to Transparency

At Credential Services, we ensure that every client fully understands their policy before they pay. However, should you choose to exercise your freelook rights, our team will assist you in the documentation process to ensure a smooth transition.
